Atostogų metu užsiėmiau piešimu. Kaiką pavyko įgyvendinti. To kaiko pasigautos tendencijos - minimalizmas, tiesios linijos, oda.
Kita naujovė man – pirmąkart panaudojau moment klijus drabužiui. Apačios palenkimui. Įtariu, jog pasinaudojus šiuo triuku iš odos galima išgauti labai gražiu „besiūlių“ rūbų. Mintys jau sukasi.
Beje, sijoną įsimylėjusi be galo be krašto, jau atradau kelis derinimo būdus ir žiemai. Ir dar liko labai nemažai šios žalsvos odos, tad vasarai rankinukas šalia tikrai bus!
First thoughts about spring, first sketches, and first sewing – a blouse and a skirt, inspired by Celine spring collection. The blouse is very simple; I got this soft fabric from my friend’s mom (many thanks to her!). And this skirt is made of leather from supersize trousers I found in a second hand store. It is first clothing from leather I have ever made. I have to say leather is incredible material to sew! It was very easy to get silhouette I want, even seams look so straight! And I used Moment glue for bottom hem.
So there will definitely be more leather clothes. And a bag from this green leather!

I just found your blog from your comment left on mine - what a fabulous skirt! Such beautiful sewing too. I, too, love the new Celine pieces. I was just looking at the same dress and skirt yesterday!
I've just discovered your blog; your leather work is fantastic!! Those bags are so beautiful, and your friends are lucky lucky girls!
Thankyou for your lovely comment on my blog, it really made my day.
Wow! This skirt is fantastic! I love the color too. Thanks also for your comment on my blog and your leather sewing tips. I actually have a question for you: how do you press leather? how do you press out the seams? I mean you can't iron it but how do you do it? The seams on oyur skirt look so perfect.
Catherin, Carolyn - so nice to hear that, thank you!

It’s a good question! I actually did iron this skirt, just not directly: through other fabric with low heat, and using a lot of ... muscle power. I’m not sure what helps more – but I guess it’s not the heat =D. And the leather was very soft so I didn’t have a problem with getting form. I usually make bags with no visible seams from thicker leather (as you can see): sew in the wrong side and then use leather glue to get flat form.
I'm still "green" here and have lot of things to learn...
Thanks for your help, Ruta!
That has to be the cutest skirt ever. I am in LOVE!!
